Months of planning finally came to fruition this past Saturday night when the Warminster Rotary Club hosted their annual Charity Ball.  With so many people feeling the pressures of the economy as well as the added issues due to Hurricane Sandy, it was even more critical for the Club to come together with the goal of helping our fellow neighbors.  With over two dozen donated prize baskets to raffle off and the music of DJ Peter Venneri over 150 Rotarians and guests partied all night long.

While the final tally is not yet complete, we can say the night was a success with money being raised to help feed those in need.  Just this past Wednesday night, the Warminster Club's Board of Directors voted to approve $4,000 to be split amongst the local food pantries in Warminster.  Also, a portion of the Charity Ball's contributions will be sent to those affected by Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey and New York.  Rotary District 7430 has setup a Sandy Disaster Relief Fund which our club has pledged a minimum of $500 to contribute to.  This money will be sent through the six Rotary districts in the most impacted areas of New Jersey and New York.  Unlike other disaster relief organizations, Rotary has the ability to get a larger percentage of the donations directly into the hands of those in need since there is very little overhead in the organization.

With another Charity Ball in the books, I am looking forward to the next half of the Rotary year ahead of us.  Take a look at a few of the pictures from the night's festivities in the Charity Ball 2012 Photo Gallery accessible from the homepage of the website!
