Rotaplast Auction 2011

The Rotary District 7430 Rotaplast Auction is supported by the Rotarians of District 7430 and all proceeds will go to fund Rotaplast Medical Missions that provide free reconstructive surgery for cleft lips in children.

Last year we sent a medical/surgical team to Columbia, South America and the 2011 Auction will help us raise the funds to continue these bi-annual missions. The Columbia team saw 90 patients and performed 110 procedures on children and young adults with cleft lips and palates.  There were 226 families waiting at the hospital in South America and we could only do surgery on 90 in an 8 day operating schedule.

"It was one of the most fulfilling medical experiences of my career," said Rotaplast Team Member Linda Young of a past medical mission. Linda is Vice President for Patient Services at St. Luke's Hospital in Quakertown. "We all worked together with local hospital and health workers to perform the surgeries in six operating days. The smiles produced by these surgeries will give the patients hope for their futures." Young is also a member of the Saucon Rotary Club.
