The Warminster Rotary Club, in partnership with the Hartsville Fire Company, will be planting a Peace Pole in September 2026
on the fire company grounds. What is a Peace Pole? Peace Poles are a part of a grassroots global movement aiming to unite humanity, foster inner peace, and promote harmony. Founded in Japan, this message is carried on over 200,000 poles worldwide, serving as monuments of peace in every country. Over 20,000 Peace Poles have been planted by Rotary Clubs around the world. The pole in Warminster Township will be the first in this area. Peace Poles are a part of an organization named May Peace Prevail On Earth International, a non-governmental organization affiliated with the United Nations.
The pole stands 8 feet tall and features the words "May Peace Prevail On Earth" in multiple languages. It will be located at the Hartsville Fire Company, in proximity to the 9-1-1 Memorial. This intentional location was chosen to inspire further inner reflection, where we pledge to Never Forget the first responders who died during the September 11th attacks. The Pole further commemorates this year as the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks and America's 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
