The Warminster Rotary Club is working with the Centennial School District's Log College Middle School to develop a Pollinator Garden. The garden is located in the front courtyard of the school grounds.
A pollinator garden is a group of plants grown together with the intention of attracting insect pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Many pollinator species are currently threatened and in decline. In 2007, the National Research Council concluded that 40% of all insect pollinator species are currently at risk of extinction. Pollinators play a vital role in human food production, and pollinator gardens are a way to support and protect essential pollinator species.
The Log College Middle School pollinator garden is a student-run environmental project. In addition to volunteer support, the Warminster Rotary Club Foundation has awarded Log College Middle School a grant, which will be used for fencing. Work is expected to be completed in the fall of 2026.
